What this site is
Georgia Civic displays public government records — rezonings, restaurant inspections, public meetings — collected from official public sources. Those records are public information about properties, facilities, and government bodies; this policy is about the personal information of visitors to this site.
Information we collect
- Email signup (optional). If you sign up for updates, we store the email address you provide — and, if you choose to give them, an address, radius, and topic interests — in our database so we can send you the updates you asked for.
- Near-me lookups. When you type an address into the "what's near me" search, that address is sent to a geocoding service (the U.S. Census Bureau geocoder, or OpenStreetMap's Nominatim) to convert it to map coordinates. We do not store the addresses you look up.
- Technical data. Like nearly every website, our hosting and security providers (Cloudflare) process standard request data — IP address, browser type, pages requested — to serve the site and protect it from abuse. We see this only in aggregate.
How we use information
We use the information above to operate the site and to send updates you have requested. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and advertising
This site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Who we share information with
We use service providers to run the site — database hosting (Supabase), hosting and content delivery (Cloudflare), geocoding (U.S. Census Bureau, OpenStreetMap), and, if ads are shown, Google. Each receives only what it needs to provide its service. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Your choices
- Every update email includes a way to stop receiving them, and you can ask us to remove your email from our list at any time.
- You can use the entire site without providing any personal information — the email signup and near-me lookup are optional.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
